Storyline:
Eddie Murphy reprises his role as the street-smart Detroit cop Axel Foley. He is contacted by his old friend Billy Rosewood, played by Judge Reinhold, who informs him that his estranged daughter Jane, portrayed by Taylour Paige, has been threatened. Jane, a defense attorney in Los Angeles, is working to prove that a suspected cop-killer was set up. Concerned for her safety, Foley returns to Beverly Hills, where he reconnects with John Taggart, now the police chief. Bobby Aaron, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, a member of Taggart’s team, suspects that a corrupt cop named Grant, portrayed by Kevin Bacon, may have information about the attack on Jane.
