Storyline:
Producer Lorne Michaels is preparing for the debut of his sketch show, “Saturday Night,” set to air on NBC on October 11, 1975. With just ninety minutes left before the performance begins, Lorne is feeling overwhelmed by the numerous responsibilities he must manage, despite having a team of colleagues assisting him in bringing the show to fruition. He is also trying to navigate the complexities of his marriage to Rosie Shuster. In addition, he is coordinating the cast while facing challenges with John Belushi, who is hesitant to finalize his contract. Meanwhile, Chevy Chase is already beginning to exhibit signs of stardom. Writer Michael O’Donoghue is complicating matters by resisting the network’s involvement, and studio executive David Tebet continues to pressure Lorne for a clear understanding of what “Saturday Night” truly entails.
