Storyline: Jorma Taccone twists horror and black comedy together with a crooked grin in Over Your Dead Body 2026. The film opens inside a rain soaked funeral home where silence feels poisonous. Then it snaps hard. One body disappears. Another suddenly appears in the wrong coffin. Meanwhile old resentments crawl out like smoke from cracked floorboards. Taccone directs the chaos with sharp timing but he never lets the dread loosen its grip for long. The performances carry a nasty edge. Characters bark insults through clenched teeth yet fear keeps leaking into every room. However the movie works best during its quieter moments. Flickering hallway lights. Wet asphalt outside midnight diners. A freezer door that groans like an animal. Those details stick. They stain the atmosphere. Visually the cinematography leans cold and grimy instead of polished. Shadows swallow entire corners of the frame. Therefore every sudden movement lands harder than expected. Some early festival chatter already compares the tone to a collision between a crime farce and supernatural panic. Honestly I think the film becomes nastier once it slows down. Fans searching for strange midnight horror inside hurawatch movies will probably eat this one alive. It feels mean twitchy and weirdly funny all at once.
