Storyline:
In this tale, Lainy finds out her closest friend is pregnant after being left by a partner. She had assumed she would marry him and start a family with. Following a harmless miscommunication involving a fake tummy, Lainy chooses to pose as pregnant. Admittedly, the idea is somewhat humorous, but for it to work as a joke, Lainy must have at least a motive for her lying. Since Lainy is such a squishy character, there isn’t really one here. She is self-absorbed enough to pretend to be pregnant in order to get attention, but she is also self-aware enough to understand that it is wrong and that the lie would eventually fall flat.
